The itinerary can be customized to suit individual preferences and time constraints.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Upon arriving in Leh, tourists can check into their hotels and take the rest of the day to acclimatize to the high altitude. This is an important step before embarking on any activities, as the altitude can affect the body. The day can be spent exploring the local market and trying out some local cuisine.

Day 2: Leh sightseeing

One of the main attractions in Leh is the Leh Palace, a 17th-century palace that provides stunning views of the city. Tourists can also visit Shanti Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist stupa with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Another highlight is Thiksey Monastery, one of the largest and most impressive monasteries in Ladakh. After a day of sightseeing, tourists can return to Leh and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley

On day three, tourists can drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. This journey can be quite an adventure, with breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Once in Nubra Valley, tourists can visit Diskit Monastery, which has a 32-meter statue of Maitreya Buddha. They can also explore the Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy a camel ride. Overnight stay can be arranged in a Nubra Valley hotel or campsite.

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

After breakfast, tourists can drive to Pangong Lake, one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Ladakh. The lake is located at an altitude of 4,350 meters and is a sight to behold with its crystal clear waters and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay can be arranged in a Pangong Lake campsite.

Day 5: Pangong Lake to Leh

On day five, tourists can drive back to Leh. Along the way, they can visit Shey Palace, a former royal residence with a large Buddha statue. They can also visit Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Once back in Leh, tourists can spend the evening at leisure and prepare for their departure the next day.

Day 6: Departure from Leh

After breakfast, tourists can check out of their hotel and depart for their next destination. It’s important to keep in mind that due to the high altitude, it’s recommended to take things slow and allow time for acclimatization. This itinerary can be customized based on preferences and time constraints.
